History
Mount Druitt was an area where Major George Druitt died in 1842. The area was a 2,000 acre land which was given to Major George Druitt as a grant. A couple of years after his death, on the 19 August 1881 the railway was built and the station served as a post office between 1885 and 1918. Later electric trains started. They started in 1955. However the train station moved east about 500 meters to service the new shopping center that is now know as Westfield.
Mount Druitt's hospital was opened in 1982. The hospital had 200 beds and was open by Queen Elizabeth 2. In the same area the court house was built. It costed 12 million and was opened in 2006. It was the first metropolitan area to have circle sentencing, which reduced over representation of indigenous Australians in custody.

Changes
One of the major changes was the train station moving to the east about 500 meters. The reason they moved the train station was because they built a new shopping center. So it so easy to get from the train station to the shopping center which is now Westfield. This increased the use of trains and more use of the shopping centre.
